he frenetic energy of a city at night; the visual noise polluting the world; the simple beauty of a moment captured in time, these are the basic elements in Marie Kennedy’s work. She has discovered that the camera allows her to be in the present moment and it is a tool for creativity—an artistic instrument. With photography, Kennedy slows down, is no longer rushed by the world around her and she sees the world through light. Composition becomes a meditation, not a struggle. Old habits and preconceived notions are shed. Kennedy finds images in obvious and obscure spaces—her mobility and imagination are the only limitations.
