Cohen is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts, where he is currently an instructor. He is a long time painter who has, in recent years, ventured into plein air painting. Robert McRoy GoVan is a painter and print-maker currently working in Richmond, VA. He was a fine arts painter before he was drafted into the U.S. Army in April 1968. A year after returning from the Vietnam conflict, he hosted his first one man exhibition. From 1971 until 1990 he participated in hundreds of exhibits, mainly in the District of Columbia. In April 2024, the Richmond Veterans Medical Center hosted GoVan’s first public exhibition in 34 years. Currently GoVan is honored to have his works hanging at Art Works.

Derived from the seemingly disparate disciplines of comic book illustration and abstract mark making, Blake is inspired by city landmarks, pop culture and non-representational work. He studied at the NY School of Visual Arts and has worked on innumerable comics including titles from Marvel & Archie. Blake’s digital paintings typically start as impressionistic drawings, hand-drawn abstract doodles, and painted color fields on paper. Then they are combined, transformed, and manipulated in the computer and output onto various substrates.
