INNER//ACTION: Games by RVA Game Jams
This exhibition celebrates video games as an innovative form of interactive art, featuring playable works by local creators from RVA Game Jams. Presented on PCs, TVs, and wall projections, the showcase also includes game-inspired prints, original artwork, and a behind-the-scenes video of the creative process during a Game Jam, which incidentally was held at Art Works. RVA Game Jams, Richmond’s home-grown game development community, nurtures developers of all skill levels and backgrounds through events that inspire creativity, collaboration, and inclusion. The exhibition will be in the Jane Sandelin Gallery at Art Works and will continue through October 18, 2025.

In this exhibit, Jen Cook-Asaro explores the incredible transformation of food and cardboard. She highlights the complex journey food takes from nature to your plate and the transformation of trees into cardboard packaging. By using 100% recycled cardboard, the artist presents a visual feast that shows the ingenuity behind everyday items, inviting viewers to appreciate the often-overlooked processes that bring food to our tables and packaging to our stores.

Nothing Gold Can Stay
Adam Reinhard’s return to the Blue Ridge Mountains after six years in Washington D.C. has reignited his senses, allowing him to truly see and breathe again. His paintings are a pursuit of the hidden colors in the Shenandoah Valley, capturing fleeting moments with urgency. Whether depicting the weathered siding of a barn, the flow of a stream, or the patchwork of farmlands, Adam’s bold brushstrokes reflect the truth of his swiftly changing environment and the inspiration he draws from these natural scenes. Alongside his art, Adam teaches high school in Waynesboro, Virginia, sharing his passion for creativity with the next generation.

Tatiana Grace
Where Light Meets Feeling
Tatiana Grace, a painter from Richmond, VA has an engineering background. She brings a meticulous eye for detail to her emotional explorations of light, color, and texture. Inspired by nature, memories, and travel, her series Where Light Meets Feelings invites viewers to experience the emotions evoked by the interplay of light and color. The exhibit will be in the Centre Gallery at Art Works through October 18, 2025
September 2025 All Media Show
This exhibit is a focal point of all Art Works’ openings. It is a juried show with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. The show is open to all artists and all mediums. There is no theme this month. The juror is Alexis Shockley, Art Coordinator for VCU Health. She maintains the health systems 3,000+ fine art collection, while curating and installing new works throughout the 38 VCU Health buildings. Alexis holds a Master of Fine Arts in Painting. Call for entries is August 15 – September 14, 2025, and may be submitted through the online form.

Kenneth Lee
RVA Thriving Artists introduces Kenneth Lee in the most current Community Bridge Project. In this exhibit Lee hopes to contribute to a broader narrative of unity, empowerment, and respect for all backgrounds—reminding us that diversity is not just something to acknowledge, but something to embrace and celebrate.
This exhibit is in the upstairs Bridge Project space at Art Works and will continue through November 30, 2025.
Sarah Miller
Fleeting Views
Sarah Miller, known as Gold Leaf Clouds, has been crafting striking film photography since 2021, exploring flowers, landscapes, and recently, street and architectural themes. Drawn to the warm tones and halation effects of Harman Phoenix film, she captures the essence of mid-century modern office buildings in Northern Virginia, creating vivid visual narratives that merge light, color, and form. Her work, inspired by synth-wave music, invites viewers into a timeless dialogue between urban landscapes and evocative emotions.
