Andy Hudson is a versatile painter and illustrator based in Virginia, with a passion for exploring various mediums and techniques. From watercolor to gouache, casein, acrylics, and alcohol-based markers, Andy enjoys experimenting with different styles and often mixes materials to create unique, textured works. His love for art began at an early age, sketching and doodling for fun, but it wasn’t until October of 2019—when he took on the challenge of creating a new piece every day for the online Inktober project—that he fully realized his deep commitment to his craft.
Though he did not attend formal art school, Andy is a self-taught artist who has honed his skills through community art classes, books, and an ever-growing wealth of online resources, from instructional videos to creative inspiration. The internet, especially platforms like YouTube, has been a constant source of learning, helping him expand his artistic toolkit.
As an artist who thrives on daily practice, Andy is continually refining his technique and pushing his creative boundaries. His work is a reflection of his dedication to both process and exploration, resulting in a body of work that spans traditional and contemporary styles.
In addition to his two-dimensional art, Andy’s studio at Art Works also showcases his sculpture work, giving visitors the opportunity to experience his creativity in a new dimension. His artistic journey is one of constant growth, and he is always excited to share his latest discoveries with the world.
