Bernadette Dennis is an abstract painter and pop art print-maker currently based in rural Virginia. Merging abstract painting with her appetite for pop culture, her work generates a steady output of exciting, stimulating, and often provoking pieces that move the viewer to curiosity over what she is communicating through her art and what she will continue to turn out. She uses her colors and images as a vehicle to convey language that demonstrates her own psychological struggles, concern for humanity, and quiet introspection. She selects her mediums to signal the depth of emotion she is suggesting in each individual piece. Oils for navigating multiple layers of a complicated message, acrylics for a clearer understanding, and mixed media to arrive at a point quickly.
