Dawnette Renee is a self-taught Mixed Media Artist currently living in Virginia. Creativity in all forms from drawing, painting, sewing, bookbinding, art journaling, and collage work, has been cathartic, Renee’s life-long passion. She started abstract-style paintings in 2015  after her life was changed drastically by the loss of her parents. Abstract painting became a conduit for the emotional turmoil of such a pivotal time in life. Renee primarily uses acrylic paint but incorporates other mediums and materials that create colorful, and textural pieces which represent constant motion and change.
