As a Virginia art teacher, Dorothy Ellis helped thousands of people solve numerous creative problems. Upon retirement, the time was available to pursue her artistic approaches.

She has concentrated in print making, putting color into etchings by using multi-colored places, and various inking techniques. Dorothy came to Richmond upon retirement after being a member of cooperative galleries in Northern Virginia: “The Loft Gallery, Occoquan, Virginia, “The Art League”, Torpedo Factory, Alexandria and the Washington Print Makers Gallery, Washington, D.C.. She likes bringing art to the general public and enjoys the energetic art spirit in Richmond, VA.
