Through painting, sculpture, and video, Margaret uses her body to take on a multitude of personas. She contrasts the antiquity of painting with the contemporaneity of digital art. Using FaceApp, a popular AI face editing software, she applies a multitude of filters to a regular picture of herself. The result is an uncanny doppelganger with dead eyes; someone who is undeniably her, but created entirely online. By creating and acting as different characters, she explores the way she navigates and reacts to the world. Margaret creates immersive videos that allow the viewer to sink into the version of reality that she is choosing to present. Camouflaging herself behind wigs and makeup, she explores the connection between video performance and painting.
