Robert McRoy GoVan is a painter and print-maker currently working in Richmond, VA. He was a fine arts painter before he was drafted into the U.S. Army in April 1968. A year after returning from the Vietnam conflict, he hosted his first one man exhibition. From 1971 until 1990 he participated in hundreds of exhibits, mainly in the District of Columbia. In April 2024, the Richmond Veterans Medical Center hosted GoVan’s first public exhibition in 34 years. Currently GoVan is honored to have his works hanging at Art Works.
